EVERYBODY DO THE FARMVILLE DANCE

I don't FaceBook that much, and I most certainly don't get to play those games on FaceBook, but there is something about the FarmVille tune that just makes me wanna swing along with it. I think PicassoKids Joi and Bubut agree with me.

So when nobody's around, sign in to your FaceBook account and try dancing the FarmVille Dance! Hee-haa...

Waiting For Christmas Morn

Oh What a joy...
Waiting for Christmas morn.
Will it be a dress? Will it be a toy?
Each tot will find as Christmas wraps are torn.

"So where is Christmas?", grown-ups might ask.
Why, you only need to look into a little child's eyes,
For you to find and unmask
Where the true meaning of Christmas lies.

'Tis in the act of selfless giving
Where you will find true enjoyment.
To see a child's eyes a-glowing
As his Christmas wishlist comes to fulfillment.

Take away traditions and all those expensive trimmings
And see Christmas in its barest simplicity.
Of a little Child born wrapped in shepherd's clothings,
A Gift of Salvation for all humanity.

REMEMBERING VOLTES V

I hope you guys love video because here's
another one. Remember those younger days
when we would crowd around the TV at 3 in
the afternoon to watch our favorite Voltes V?
Here's PicassoKids Joi and Bubut spoofing the
Voltes V theme song.

Camp Rock a la PicassoKids

PicassoKid Joi has a beautiful voice.
And she can hit those high notes, too.
A little more practice and who knows,
Joi may someday be a superstar!
Oh yeah, Bubut CAN sing, too!

MOTHER AND CHILD

A tender moment
between mother and child,
immortalized in digital pixels.
A work of art, no less.

PICASSO PAINTINGS

Paintings by Pablo Picasso are recognized as some of the most valuable and most expensive works of art. Here are just three of Picasso's most expensive masterpieces:
Garcon a la pipe (Boy with A Pipe) painted in 1905 when Picasso was just 24 years old. This oil on canvas painting depicts a young Parisian boy holding a pipe. This masterpiece was sold in 2004 for US$104 Million, or roughly US$120 Million today.

Dora Maar Au Chat (Dora Maar with Cat), painted in 1941, depicts Picasso's lover seated on a chair with a cat perched on her shoulders. This masterpiece was auctioned in 2006 for US$95.2 Million, or roughly US$102 Million today.

Les Noces de Pierrette (The Marriage of Pierrette) was painted in 1905, a time when Picasso faced poverty early in his career. In 1989, it was sold for US$50 Million, or roughly US$ 85 Million today.

Who knows? Maybe those old doodles you kept in your attic would also be worth millions, too , someday.

TERIYAKI KIDS

Recently, Picasso Kids Justin, Joi, and Bubut attended a birthday party at Teriyaki Boy. They enjoyed delicious Japanese food like sushi, tempura and miso soup. They also had fun playing with the Teriyaki Boy mascot, the clowns, and the soap bubble tricks. Justin took most of the pictures using his Casio Exilim 8.1 mega pixel digicam.

TAEKWANDO YELLOW BELT

Last week, Bubut earned his Yellow Belt from his Taekwando class. His instructors are very proud of him. Even though Bubut is the youngest and the smallest in his class, he can win over bigger opponents. A future Champ in the making.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOI

Joi celebrated her 7th birthday last June 25. Her dad and mom bought Joi a beautiful Goldilock's cake with a Princess motif. Remember her drawing on "Joi Joins In, Too?" She drew a birthday cake and she and her friend Mikaela played. Well, it was a wish come true because that was exactly what happened. See kids, wishes do come true!

DANCE, BUBUT, DANCE!

Not to be outdone, Bubut shows Aiyana he can dance, too. And that's Granberry getting up from the sofa...

Whenever you have the opportunity, try recording your Kids' little antics. Trivial as they may seem, these few precious seconds of child play may never be repeated again. So you better have your digicam always ready.

A NEW PICASSOKID !

Let's all welcome Aiyana Lily Lim-Abaya, the newest member of PicassoKids. She's just turning 1 this June but already she's showing great artistic potential.
Uncle Jun can't wait to post her drawings here. But while were all waiting for that, let's just enjoy her little (simulated) dance routine.

JOI JOINS IN,TOO!

Let's not forget about Joi, of course. She has her drawings to share, too. I wonder why she drew a Happy Birthday cake? Hmmm... maybe it's because Joi's birthday is coming up this June!

BUBUT'S GETTING BETTER

Bubut seldom doodles. So when I saw this one, I knew I really have to post this here. It's a remarkable improvement from Bubut's early drawings.

JUSTIN'S CURRENT THEME

Remember how Justin's drawings shifted from cathedrals to Egyptology to Greek mythology? Well his art is still evolving. Currently, Justin has turned his interest to saints. He would search the Internet for hours on topics such as saints, incorruptibles, and holy relics. He actually remembers holidays for each saints. Does Justin want to be a priest? No. He says he wants to be an architect or maybe a chef. Very diverse. Just get good grades Justin and I'm sure you'll do well in any career you choose.

Enough said. Here's a couple of Justin's saintly drawings...

SUMMER'S END

Summer is nearly over. In two weeks, schools will once again open it's doors to PicassoKids. For Justin, Joi and Bubut, this means playtime is over. It's back to books and homeworks again.

So, while they still can, PicassoKids are making the most of these last few days playing, biking, swimming and just having fun.

Pretty soon, they'll bid goodbye to summer.

PET PICASSOS

Last March, Joi's dad gave her a pair of cute, cuddly, soft, furry, little guinea pigs. This was her graduation gift because Joi did very well in school. She named them Mickey and ... guess what?Minnie!

Joi and Bubut love to play with Mickey and Minnie, too. They feed their pets with pellets and fresh grass. And give them clean water everyday. They have to keep Mickey and Minnie in a pink cage though coz there are big cats all over the house. We wouldn't want Mickey and Minnie to end up as cat food now do we?

HIS FATHER'S SHOES

Guess who Bubut wants to be like when he grows up? Little kids are very impressionable. At this stage of their formative years, they are already looking for role models for them to imitate. So all you grown-ups better behave. Make sure those youngsters only see positive values. Otherwise...
Big brother Justin already has his own sets of role models. I think one of them is good old Albert Einstein.

DAVID

PicassoKid Joi did this little piece of art using magnetic letters. She used the fridge as her canvas. Smart Girl! I called this masterpiece "DAVID" as in David Letterman.

WHAT'S UP WITH BUBUT?

PicassoKid Bubut has not been doodling lately. You'll will have to forgive him. He's been busy with his schoolwork, his tae-kwon-do lessons, and helping around the house. As soon as he's got new artworks, I'll post them here right away!
And that's PicassoKid Justin on the keyboard!

JOI LOVES AIYANA

Oceans apart, Joi dreams of a day sometime soon that she and Aiyana would take lazy afternoon walks.

FAMELY HAUSE & BATHFLAI

Pardon me for the typo but this was intentional. Sometimes you gotta love the way PicassoKids try their best to express what they want to say in their own cute little ways. Here are two examples created by Joi. Note how she spelled FAMILY HOUSE (FAMELY HAUSE) and BUTTERFLY (BATHFLAI). Cute!

SIMPLE YET BEAUTIFUL

Even Joi's simple pencil doodles look pretty, too. By the way, these drawings were all drawn on scratch papers. This early, PicassoKids are already aware of recycling and the ecology.

PicassoKids collected about 400 points at the arcade and Justin got himself a chess set, Joi a set of pens, and Bubut got a green toy car. T'was a really fun afternoon.
